Rockwell Engineering was established in Macroom, Co Cork in 1981 and has grown over the years to become an established specialist in cleanroom construction, HVAC services, heat recovery & carbon emission reduction projects and general mechanical and electrical services.

Rockwell operate in all industry sectors with particular knowledge and experience in the Bio Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Electronics, Food & Dairy and Data Centre/Light Industrial sectors.

Rockwell has built a reputation for innovation and solution based problem solving, engineering excellence and the provision of its own experienced and trusted installation teams for top quality and hassle free projects.

Rockwell employ its own team of experienced engineers, project managers, site supervision and foremen. Some of these staff have worked with the company for over 20 years and have direct experience across a wide range of projects and industries.

Michael Field - Manaing Director

Michael Field – Managing Director

Michael is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants with over twenty years experience in commercial business. He has been a director of companies operating in the following sectors; retail, pharmaceutical, technology and property. Currently he is a director of the investment company Cerus Partners Ltd. Michael is Chairman of Eblana Photonics Ltd a company which manufactures high specification laser photonic devices for, specialist clients with specific requirments and also in volume to the broadband access communications market.

Martin Conheady

Martin Conheady – Operations Director

Martin joined Rockwell in February 1985 as contracts manager having graduated from UCG in 1984 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Martin moved to the UK in 1988 with MF Kent and rejoined Rockwell to project manage a number of mechanical services projects in Dusseldorf, Berlin and Hamburg. While working in the UK he was sponsored by MF Kent to complete an MSc in Environmental Engineering. On his return to Ireland in 1997 he was appointed Operations Director in Rockwell with direct responsibility for all major projects, including direct construction responsibility for Pfizer’s Bio Pharma Grange Castle, Abbott Nutritional Cotehill, Pfizer Inshera Little Island, Blarney Golf Hotel and Centocore HVAC installation.

Jim Devaney - Engineering Direction

Jim Devaney - Engineering Director

Jim joined Rockwell in 1986 as a Project Engineer. He has a primary engineering degree from NUIG and a MSc. in Building Services Engineering from Herriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. He progressed within the organisation to Engineering Manager and was responsible for major projects at General Instrument, Allergan and Nypro and TRW Dusseldorph. Jim returned to Rockwell in 1999 as Director of Engineering, and has been responsible for projects at Intel, Kostal, Baxter, Elan, Pfizer and Hollister. Jim has also lectured in Building Services and Sustainable Technologies at UCC and AIT, and has sat on industrial panels of course development boards at AIT and CIT.

Mary Hickey

Mary Hickey – Financial Controller

Mary joined Rockwell Engineering in 1985 having graduated from UCC with an honours degree in Commerce. She is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Ireland. Mary has gained extensive financial and managerial experience working in the construction sector in areas including financial administration, budget planning and control, taxation and systems management.
